Old Time Victrola Music Message Board :: Phonographs! :: Antique Phonograph Message Board :: MordEth Banned for this...
Phonographs, as well as other "vintage" Music boxes and tube equipment
mean a lot to me on a number of levels. Aside from the Musical element,
their construction, fit and finish and often times ingenuity, represent
an America that is long gone and that I long for. They are symbols of a
time and place where people could speak their minds clearly, and did,
and Men had BALLS. You didn't have to make it your life's work
worrying about doing or saying anything that might harm the
sensitivities of whimpering little overly sensitive candy ass
"metro-sexuals". Oh, and lets not forget the self-righteous,
multi-culturally sensitive bunch. What a bunch of hypocrites. What a
bunch of bull sh*t. We made no apologies to the world for being who we were. It
speaks VOLUMES to me of the character of a Man that would expend the
efforts to create and maintain a Forum dedicated to this great Machine
and Time. I have not met him, but this is proof to me that he is both
good and open handed. For those efforts and his works, I extend the
same appreciation and respect as described above.
We get enough
of the hysterical "New World Order", everybody's a "fascist", bitch
rants from the media and the open sewer know as TeeVee.
It's insulting to me and defiling to the America I love (and remember) to have to bump into that crap here.

Soon I guess there'll be no where to "hide".
Craig
Craig,
So,
I'm a bit confused here. You talk about this great time when men could
speak their mind without fear and hate this modern era when we have to
be careful of offending others, yet you are offended by Mordeth for
"having the balls" to speak his mind. Interesting.
Of course
that mythical time never really existed. Firstly in many instances one
had to tow the line or face being ostracized by the majority. People
were driven out of their homes for the crime of being different. I
could tell you many stories of violence against Roman Catholics, and
Jews by people who weren't afraid to speak their minds for a start. Do
we want to talk about the many poor young girls lead astray who killed
themselves out of shame because of people who weren't afraid to speak
their minds?
There are now and have always been people who
aren't afraid to speak their minds-we all know a few of those. But
there used to be these other people, these people knew of something
called decency and courtesy. I don't see to many of them around these
days-I think they may have moved away.
You have not met him
yet you judge him. I know him, he's an honorable man. You have been a
member of this board long enough to know he's not the one who's been
yelling about a "New World Order" as you say. I will stand by him, he's
stood by me. And he's donated a great deal of his time and energy to
helping me with an aspect of my phono interests.
I agree we do
get to much knashing of teeth from the media and I come here to escape
that and indulge my love talking machines and what they represent and
yet I am constantly inundated with politics and arguing and all manner
of crap on this board and it's not Mordeth's fault. If we can once
again harken back to those days you long for----remember what Harry
Truman had on his desk? Responsibility rests with those in power
although I like the way he said it better.
